04-28-2026 - 5:30 AM - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, and I have nothing planned for today. After pulling weeds yesterday, I decided to mow the yard. Today, I have a “stand-up” long-handled weed puller scheduled for delivery. If that pre-emergent had worked, I wouldn’t be pulling so many weeds! As you might guess, I have Morse code running in the background on the old Yeasu 857D. I was too busy to attempt any contacts yesterday. Let’s see what the day brings. My Folgers Black Silk coffee is ready.

--- 5:55 AM - According to Water Data for Texas, Wichita Falls reservoirs are: Arrowhead: 85.1% Kemp: 95.7% Kickapoo: 87.9%. Monitored Water Supply Reservoirs are 90.2% full. The City of Wichita Falls uses combined levels of Arrowhead and Kickapoo (86.55%) to determine drought stage.

--- 6:55 AM - At this hour, a good place to be is either the Circle M Bakery at 2716 Old Iowa Park Rd, or Tommy's Donuts & Fried Rice at 2608 Old Iowa Park Rd. It's a little early for the fried rice at Tommy's. That comes later in the day, but it's worth waiting for. Circle M Bakery has great fried pies.

--- 7:15 AM - The Wichita Falls area Skywarn® storm spotter Net Control Station, WX5SPS, issued a weather update regarding the approaching storm. At least one spotter has been dispatched to the stadium to observe things. It appears this storm, which is tracking toward Wichita Falls, has the potential (radar-indicated) for golf-ball-size hail.

--- 12:05 PM - NWS Weather Update - This Afternoon: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1pm. Sunny, with a high near 93. West southwest wind 10 to 13 mph becoming north northwest. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 52. North northeast wind 11 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

--- 3:00 PM - The "site" consisted of 12 earth-covered bunkers and several associated buildings, hidden in a forested area of Germany. Military Police controlled access. Infantry troops manned the four short gun towers, one at each corner of the site, between double fences. Inside the Maintenance and Assembly building, a nuclear missile warhead was out of its storage container. A warrant officer technician stood back, arms akimbo, and said, "Now, that's a bomb!"

--- 5:00 PM - I didn't do any “radioing” yesterday because I was busy pulling weeds and mowing the lawn. I didn't do any “radioing” today, other than listening, because I was recovering from yesterday's weed-pulling and lawn-mowing. Let's see what happens tomorrow.
