THIS IS A JOURNAL, not a blog or discussion forum. I write about Wichita Falls and Hobby Radio topics that interest me. People who share those interests might hang around. Others will not. I've been a CB Radio Operator since 1964, and an Amateur (ham) Radio Operator since 1982. I've held an Amateur "Extra" license since 1983. I also have a General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS ) license. I keep the FRS, GMRS, and MURS radios on stand-by, but I monitor it all. This journal is not a source of technical information. However, I will give you one tip: Put your money into the antenna - big, high, or both!
I received a Private Pilot Certificate in 1972. Just for fun, I went on to earn an Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot Certificate, Multi-Engine Rating, Flight Instructor Rating, and Instrument Instructor Rating. I also enjoyed jumping out of airplanes, even the "perfectly good" ones. That was all in another life. My college major, in that other life, was Political Science. I never discuss politics. I spent 6 years, 7 months, and 23 days in the U.S. Army.
